Pound had unearthed the 4 chapters from laborious search of 4 presidents who evidently exposed usurocracy in an uncomprehending way to a dumbounded and bewildered majority .I find interesting the comment of Hamilton's affinity withv the talents of Disraeli.
John Adams exclaimed in his old age : Every bank of discount is downright corruptiontaxing the public for private individuals’ gain.and if I say this in my willthe American people wd/ pronounce I died crazy. QUOTE
I find this quote also very revealing.
The theatrical gesture of the assassin does not explain how it happened that he escaped from Washington, after the alarm had been raised, by the only road that was not guarded; nor its synchronization with the attempted assassination of Seward, the Secretary of State, nor various other details of the affair. Lincoln;'s role in unmasking of usorocracy and the escape of the assassin Booth . These synchronize? One wonders if the two are not fortuitous events and are somehow connected.
In Two Continents
Every revolution is betrayed.
The story of the
young American Republic may serve, to a certain extent, as a warning to the
Italian Republic of to-day,[3]
just as any other exact knowledge of history may be useful to the understanding
of the historical process in times of crisis.
The victory of the American
armies, Lord Cornwallis’s surrender, etc., did not end the secular war between
producer and usurer which continued, if somewhat subduedly, without the
slightest truce. The idea that a war might ever have abolished interest on
debt was regarded with irony by one of the “Fathers of the Republic.”
After a few skirmishes between advance patrols, there came an action in the
grand style, now known as the “Scandal of the Assumption.” The manÅ“uvre
was classic. The soldiers of the Revolution had been paid by the various
colonies in paper-money that recognized the debt of the colony to the
veteran. These “certificates of indebtedness” began to lose their
purchasing-power, which fell to twenty per cent. of the face value. A
hundred dollars in certificates were worth only twenty. At a certain
moment twenty-nine members of the National Congress, in league with their
friends, bought up large quantities of the certificates. After this
action, the Nation, now newly organized as an executive unit, “assumed” the
responsibility of paying them at par. (Claude G. Bowers, former U.S.
Ambassador in Spain, gives the details in his Jefferson and
Hamilton).
Hamilton’s racial origins have never been determined with
certainty, though his eloquence, suavity, and drawing-room talents suggest a
certain affinity with the abilities of Disraeli. Jefferson, who opposed
Hamilton’s manoeuvres, pinned his faith on the Secretary of the Treasury,
Gallatin, of “Swiss” origin. A certain prejudice was aroused against
Gallatin, but Jefferson insisted that he was the “most able man in the
administration after the President” (i.e., after himself).
Jefferson
professed not to understand agriculture (adding deferentially : but Mr.
Madison—he does). He claimed a certain ignorance of economics. He
insisted that the bank was useful because it gave “ubiquity” to Gallatin’s
money. And, in fact, the bank gave it this ubiquity. Giving ubiquity
to purchasing-power is one of the perfectly legitimate and very useful functions
of banks. But to temper any exaggerated admiration of the workings of
usurocratic procedures that may have become sanctified by habit, we may note
that John Adams exclaimed in his old age :
Every bank of discount is
downright corruptiontaxing the public for private individuals’ gain.and if I say
this in my willthe American people wd/ pronounce I died crazy.[4]
Some
ten years ago I had occasion to condense the introductory study of American
history into a “book” of less than thirty lines. This book shows that
Jefferson was less ignorant of finance and money than his modesty would have
pretended. Here are my four chapters :
CHAPTER I
All the
perplexities, confusion, and distress in America arise, not from defects in
their Constitution or confederation, not from want of honor or virtue, so much
as from downright ignorance of the nature of coin, credit, and circulation,John
Adams[5]CHAPTER
II
... and if the national bills issued be bottomed (as is indispensable) on
pledges of specific taxes for their redemption within certain and moderate
epochs, and be of proper denominations for circulation, no interest on them
would be necessary or just, because they would answer to every one the purposes
of the metallic money withdrawn and replaced by them.Thomas Jefferson (Letter to
Crawford, 1816 July 20)[6]CHAPTER
III
... and gave the people of this Republic the greatest blessing they ever
had—their own paper to pay their own debts.Abraham Lincoln[7]CHAPTER
IV
The Congress shall have Power ...
To coin Money, regulate the Value
thereof, and of foreign Coin, and fix the Standard of Weights and
Measures;(Constitution of the United States, Article I Legislative Department,
Section 8, clause 5)done in Convention by the Unanimous Consent of the States
present the Seventeenth Day of September in the Year of our Lord one thousand
seven hundred and Eighty seven and of the Independence of the United States of
America the TwelfthIn witness whereof We have hereunto subscribed our
Names,George Washington—President and deputy from Virginia
It should be noted
that only the last of these statements is to be found in a publication easily
accessible to the great majority of the citizens of the great but denatured
democracy. The American Constitution, from which it is taken, is written
in a style that is not very attractive to the average reader. The
key-phrases come a long way after the beginning and the citizen gets bored
before he catches up with them. For years, now, Congress has taken no
notice of the powers it has been invested with by this Document. Now and
then some crank from Nebraska or Dakota raises an uncouth voice to demand a
little of the liberty proclaimed by the Fathers of the Republic, but the roar of
the rotary presses soon drowns such rustic vociferations.
One day, thinking
of the trouble it had cost me to unearth these four “chapters,” I asked the head
of the American history department of the Library of Congress if there existed a
history of America, whether in one volume or in ten, that contained these four
chapters, or the substance of them.
After reflecting for a while he replied
that so far as he knew I was the first to have brought together and in relation
to each other the four great names of the greatest presidents of the
Republic.
Lincoln was assassinated after he made the statement given
above.
The theatrical gesture of the assassin does not explain how it
happened that he escaped from Washington, after the alarm had been raised, by
the only road that was not guarded; nor its synchronization with the
attempted assassination of Seward, the Secretary of State, nor various other
details of the affair. The fact remains that Lincoln had assumed a
position in clear opposition to the usurocracy.

- None the less, as I say, the Fourth Race remains the majority [on earth today?], and this Occult Brotherhood of Yucatan is specially charged with looking after them. Their methods have always been -- as were Fourth Race methods of the past -- those which dealt with the advance of mankind through what is called now "the lower psychism" that is, through a number of occult phenomena connected with the physical plane and tangible, so that, on the physical plane, proofs might be afforded of the reality of the hidden worlds...
The following is excerpted from 2012 and the Shift of Ages: A Guide to
the End of the World (Adventures Unlimited Press).
In
the mid-1970's, a Hindu Guru of the 2,300-year-old Natha lineage,
Satguru Sivaya
Subramuniyaswami, said his inner psychic eye opened on a book
from the ancient
library of the deity Subramanya. In the weeks and months
that followed, his
disciples gathered close and transcribed while he watched
the pages turn and
read the text aloud. The result was a remarkable book,
Lemurian Scrolls, which
remained restricted to high-level initiates
in the Saiva Siddhanta Order for the
next twenty-four
years. In 1997, while preparing a private printing of a few
hundred copies
for long-time students, Subramuniyaswami relates that the "divine
thrust
came to release [Lemurian Scrolls] freely to the world at large," and the
book was published for the general public.
Lemurian Scrolls, he says,
was
written in two parts by disciples at ashrams in Lemuria, one part near
the end
of the Treta Yuga and the other in the Dvapara Yuga. The book opens
with the
story of mankind's migration to Earth from the Pleiades star
cluster during the
Satya Yuga -- a story I will briefly summarize here.
The first humans
arrived on Earth, the Scrolls say, in subtle etheric
bodies, and used the "thick
clouds of gases and healthful substances" on the
planet to form physical bodies
through which to express themselves. Those who were first to arrive aided the
ones who arrived
subsequently by making offerings to them of cut fruit, flowers
and other
substances, the essences of which the arriving beings used to manifest
delicate physical forms. Their bodies eventually became dense enough
to
smell and feel, and in time they were able to eat normally like the
animals that
already occupied the planet. This was done in temples, where
the priests would
make the offerings on a pedestal, which served as a focus
of concentration.
The celestial beings would stand on
the pedestal and absorb the Earth's
pungent substances and with it
materialize strong physical bodies. In the
beginning it took a long time to
bring the etheric body of a soul into physical
form so he could walk off
this pedestal on his own in the Earth's atmosphere.
But through the
thousands of years that passed, it became a very rapid process,
and the
entire Earth became populated with celestial beings from several of the
major planets in the galaxy. Thus, the souls
arrived in full force to begin a
long, tedious evolutionary pattern through
the three yugas to follow.
Near
the end of
the Treta Yuga, some of these celestial beings were caught and eaten
by the
planet's carnivorous creatures, and in this manner they entered the
evolutionary cycle of animals, being reborn afterwards with an animal
nervous
system and animal instincts but a divine soul. The process of
becoming liberated
from the animal body after that would take an extremely
long time, but during
the Kali Yuga, the Scrolls predicted, a human kingdom
would begin to emerge from
the animal kingdom, and at the end of the Kali
Yuga the conditions would appear
for many souls to become liberated, having
realized the Self and thus
accomplished their purpose in migrating to the
planet.Since at least the latter half of the 18th century, Western esotericists have
claimed that there is a secret inner tradition that has been upheld by
enlightened people in every religion from ancient times to the present. Among
the proponents of this philosophy, the writings of Helena Blavatsky have
had a uniquely far-reaching impact.
Madame
Helena Petrovna Blavatsky (b. 1831 - d. 1891) was a daughter of Russian nobility
and an intellectual heiress to the Russian Age of Enlightenment. In 1848, at the
age of seventeen, the young Blavatsky fled on a stolen horse from an unhappy
arranged marriage, to spend the next ten years wandering around the world,
collecting esoteric wisdom from a wide assortment of gurus and masters -- no
doubt among many extraordinary adventures and equally extraordinary hardships.
In 1873, she immigrated to New York City, where in 1875 she co-founded the
Theosophical Society.
Now a mature Adept in her
own right, Blavatsky claimed to represent a secret association of mystical
Adepts who had sent her forth to correct some errors that had developed in the
nascent Spiritualist movement (which, she said, they also had created). An
extraordinary account of Spiritualism's origins was given by an eminent
Theosophist, the Countess Wachtmeister, addressing a Spiritualist audience in
1897. As quoted by Jocelyn Godwin ("The Hidden Hand - Part I: The Provocation of
the Hydesville Phenomena." Theosophical History. 1990. III/2) -- she related:
A group of Atlantean Adepts, who had brought with them the traditions of
that older period of time and the knowledge of Occultism, as practiced in those
early days, seeing how the world was rushing down into materialism with rapid
strides, noticing how, as persons were developing their intellectual powers, the
churches gradually lost their hold upon them, and so having nothing to cling to
they were drifting down into materialism, the Lodge determined to stop this
terrible downward course; and a spiritual influx was thrown down here into
America, and then began the Rochester manifestations, these Adepts being living men, great souls from Atlantis
incarnated into the bodies of North American Indians. It was they who brought
forward this grand movement of Spiritualism.
And all this
time we thought it was the dolphins.
In an article published in The
Theosophist in 1883, Madame Blavatsky succinctly summarized her own chronicle of
human history:
During the occupation of the Earth for one period by the
great tidal wave of humanity," she wrote, "seven great races are successively
developed, their end being in every case marked by a tremendous cataclysm which
changes the face of the earth in the distribution of land and water. The
present race of mankind, as often stated, is the fifth race. The inhabitants of
the great continent of Atlantis were the fourth race. When they were in their
prime, the European continent was not in existence as we know it now, but none
the less was there free communication between Atlantis and such portions of
Europe as did exist, and Egypt. The ancient Egyptians themselves were not an
Atlantic colony.
In the same article she
affirmed that there was "an ancient connection between the central American
peoples and the lost continent of Atlantis."
Annie Besant --
President of the Theosophical Society after the death of Blavatsky's successor
-- was essentially in agreement with Countess Wachtmeister's account. Joscelyn
Godwin -- my primary source for the history of Theosophy -- quotes from a talk
given by Besant in India during World War I and published in 1921; I reproduce
here a slightly different selection from the same talk, which I will quote at
length for different reasons.
Most of you have
doubtless heard of the Brotherhood of Yucatan, in Mexico, an exceedingly
remarkable group of Occultists, who came down by definite succession in
Fourth Race bodies, maintaining the Fourth Race methods of occult
progress... They are utilising bodies whose nervous
constitution is very much finer, is more highly organised, especially those who
in the decadence of the Fourth Race went on under the special guidance of the
White Lodge of the time, and took up methods which were specially intended to
save the Fifth Race from the catastrophe in which a majority of the Fourth Race
were overwhelmed in the great cataclysm of Atlantis. None the less, as I say, the Fourth Race remains the majority [on
earth today?], and this Occult Brotherhood of Yucatan is specially charged with
looking after them. Their methods have always been -- as were Fourth Race
methods of the past -- those which dealt with the advance of mankind through
what is called now "the lower psychism"; that is, through a number of occult phenomena connected with the
physical plane and tangible, so that, on the physical plane, proofs might be
afforded of the reality of the hidden worlds...
Pound's the history of usury -same essay
This history of usury can well give sense to the biblical maxim that the greedy will not inherit the kingdom of heaven:
- St Ambrose-cursed are the hoggers of harvest
- Babylon 3rd millennium loans of seed corn
- China -benevolent state monetary policies-
- Fascist Republican policy-rights to not of property
- Diffusing of an artificial ignorance of a usurocratic press to preserve monopolies and privileges
- suppression (aforementioned) of the colonial paper-money, fifty-six years after the foundation of the (private) Bank “of England” (so-called).
- The creation of artifical debt : Among the definitions of the word “banker” collected by Obst we find : a banker is one who buys money and debts, creating other debts;a banker is one who borrows money to lend it again at a profit(i.e., at a higher rate of interest).
- The advanced stage in the development of the usurers’ cunning marked by the foundation of the above-mentioned bank was clearly registered in Paterson’s prospectus : “the bank hath benefit of the interest on all moneys which it creates out of nothing.” The cunning of usury.
- The Quakers of Pennsylvania enteredinto the competition.
- Aristotle called money NOMISMA , a product not of nature but of man.
- The purpose of a monopoly is to be able to sell the material or product monopolized at an unjustly inflated price, scorning the public good and victimizing one’s neighbour.
- Perhaps no financier has ever lived abler than Samuel Loyd. Certainly he understood as few men, even of later generations, have understood, the mighty engine of the single standard. He comprehended that, with expanding trade, an inelastic currency must rise in value; he saw that, with sufficient resources at command, his class might be able to establish such a rise, almost at pleasure; certainly that they could manipulate it when it came, by taking advantage of foreign exchange. He perceived moreover that, once established, a contraction of the currency might be forced to an extreme, and that when money rose beyond price, as in 1825, debtors would have to surrender their property on such terms as creditors might dictate.[2] Artifical manipulation at an endemic level for the aggrandizement of the few at the expense of the many and unjustified.
- The modern revelation of the usurocratic mechanism remained at this point until Arthur Kitson gave his evidence before the Macmillan Committee, when he traced the curve showing the relationships between debt and credit after the Napoleonic wars, after the American Civil War, and their bearing on the post-Versailles period.
- The monopoly of money is restriction of its circulation an aberration of the natural flow of resources and the stupid fall into the trap.
- Wars deliberately create scarcity and debt oblivious to the human predicament and the human victims as its necessary outcome. The treasures of civilization are necessarily depleted.
.Captans Annonam Maledictus in Plebe sit
St. Ambrose went straight to the
point. “Hoggers of harvest, cursed, cursed among the people !”
The
history of usury begins with the loans of seed-corn in Babylon in the third
millennium B.C. The first mention I know of a state monetary policy refers to
the year 1766 B.C. when an Emperor of China, in order to alleviate the distress
caused by famine and aggravated by grain monopolizers, opened a copper-mine and
coined disks of metal perforated with a square hole. We read that he gave
this money to the starving, and that they could then buy grain where the grain
was.
It is not known whether the Emperor invented the idea, or if he followed
a benevolent precedent. But one can see that he understood the nature and
the social purpose of money, as well as one of the limitations of its
power. A similar wisdom emerges from the phrase in the recent Fascist
Republican Programme : “not the rights of property, but the rights to
property.”
The decrees of the Emperor Frederick II, King of Sicily, used to
begin with God the Eternal and the Creation of the World. This medieval
style precludes any idea that social factors are without roots.
My ignorance,
and yours, and that of the surrounding public is not to-day a natural
phenomenon. Above and beyond natural ignorance, an artificial ignorance is
diffused, artificially created by the usurocratic press, by several kinds of
organizations striving to preserve their monopolies and privileges.
The basic
fact of the history of the U.S.A. is the suppression (aforementioned) of the
colonial paper-money, fifty-six years after the foundation of the (private) Bank
“of England” (so-called).
Among the definitions of the word “banker”
collected by Obst we find :
a banker is one who buys money and debts,
creating other debts;a banker is one who borrows money to lend it again at a
profit(i.e., at a higher rate of interest).
The advanced stage in the
development of the usurers’ cunning marked by the foundation of the
above-mentioned bank was clearly registered in Paterson’s prospectus :
“the bank hath benefit of the interest on all moneys which it creates out of
nothing.”[1]
Paterson,
in other words, proposed to lend not money but notes, gambling on the very
likely probability that only a small fraction of the “depositors” would ever
want to withdraw their money at the same time.
The trick came off, and in a
grand way. But the Quakers of Pennsylvania were beginning to enter into
competition pro bono publico pennsylvanico. That is to say, they lent
their paper-money to farmers for purposes of land-reclamation up to an amount
equal to half the value of the land in question, requiring repayment in ten
annual instalments.
The bank in the mother country, through the
instrumentality of the British Government, had this beneficial competition,
which had brought prosperity to the colonies, suppressed in 1750.
After
various other vexations the colonies declared their independence, which they
achieved thanks to their geographical position and to the perturbed state of
Europe.
The Emperor Tching Tang had understood the distributive function of
money. Aristotle is right in saying that the Greeks called money NOMISMA
because it was a product not of nature but of man. Money is, in the first
place, an instrument of the will. The economic conditions of a society
depend on the will of its rulers (hindered by ignorance or contrasting
will-powers). It is true to say that the purely economic man does not
exist, if we mean that the economic problem cannot be solved without allowing
for human will as one of its components.
The purpose of a monopoly is to be
able to sell the material or product monopolized at an unjustly inflated price,
scorning the public good and victimizing one’s neighbour.
During the last
thirty years the news-stands and bookshops have displayed and sold a
considerable number of more or less “appraximative” works retailing the affairs
of various monopolies : of petrol, of metals, etc. But the great
whudunnit of money never appeared among them.
In a certain sense Brooks Adams
had written it, but not in “popular” form. The kernel of his exposition is
contained in the following paragraph.
Perhaps no financier has ever lived
abler than Samuel Loyd. Certainly he understood as few men, even of later
generations, have understood, the mighty engine of the single standard. He
comprehended that, with expanding trade, an inelastic currency must rise in
value; he saw that, with sufficient resources at command, his class might
be able to establish such a rise, almost at pleasure; certainly that they
could manipulate it when it came, by taking advantage of foreign exchange.
He perceived moreover that, once established, a contraction of the currency
might be forced to an extreme, and that when money rose beyond price, as in
1825, debtors would have to surrender their property on such terms as creditors
might dictate.[2]
This
is the kernel.
The modern revelation of the usurocratic mechanism remained at
this point until Arthur Kitson gave his evidence before the Macmillan Committee,
when he traced the curve showing the relationships between debt and credit after
the Napoleonic wars, after the American Civil War, and their bearing on the
post-Versailles period. (Notice to-day the American propaganda in favour
of a “return to gold”.)
Aristotle mentions the olive-press monopoly practiced
by Thales just to prove that a philosopher could easily outwit other people if
he had nothing better to do, or if he did not find the exercise of his cerebral
facilities more interesting.
The monopoly of money, or the restriction of its
circulation, is merely a variation of this simple form of monopoly. That
is all. The stupid fall into the trap. Wars are provoked in
succession, deliberately, by the great usurers, in order to create debts, to
create scarcity, so that they can extort the interest on these debts, so that
they can raise the price of money (i.e., the price of the various monetary units
controlled by, or in the possession of, the same usurocrats), altering the
prices of the various monetary units when it suits them, raising and lowering
the prices of the various foodstuffs when it suits them, completely indifferent
to the human victim, to the accumulated treasures of civilization, to the
cultural heritage

Pound's seminal essay on America, Roosevelt and the causes of the present war
Adepts and devotees have a common fallacy or proclivity,if you will, of assigning a single factor in the analysis of the historical moment or of epochs and assign sinister and conspiratorial motives to the outside world. They are much like members of the mystery cults and assign a mystique and hidden venue to their prognostications. The single factor here is usurocracy.
- Selection of facts over bulk of exposition by writers of history. Georg Obst's exposition is more valuable than the pages of DR Dewey.
- The historical process understood by a diligent minority . Their views are almost always submerged for they are centered on the public good. (JAckswon, Calhoun and Van Buren's insights have similarly been submerged. As well as the views of Brooks Adams.
- Note the works of John Adams in 10 volumes (1850-56).Edited by Charles Francis Adams.
- The mystery of economics has been more jealously guarded than were ever the mysteries of Eleusis.
- Ethics arise with agriculture and the classical authors speak too frankly for the tastes of the seigneurs of usury.
- Note the following works: Claudius Salmasius (De Modo Usurarum and De Foenore Trapezitico, Lugd. Bat. (Leyden), 1639 and 1640.
- a sound basis of credit --What constitutes a sound basis of credit was already known and affirmed at the beginning of the seventeenth century by the founders of the Monte dei Paschi of Siena. It was, and is, the abundance, or the productive capacity, of nature taken together with the responsibility of the whole people. QUOTE
- The writings are recorded but books and inscriptions disappear and the lessons are lost and greed arises again with the same monopolies and iniquities worldwide.
The main events dealt with in this pamphlet are :(1) The suppression of the
paper-money issue in Pennsylvania, A.D. 1750.(2) The American Revolution (1776)
and its subsequent betrayals.(3) How the United States fell into the hands of
the international usurocracy during the Civil War after about 1863.These events
should be considered in relation to the present war (1939- ).The Incidence of the War in the Process of History and the Fate of Revolutions
This war was not caused by any caprice on Mussolini’s part, nor on Hitler’s. This war is part of the secular war between usurers and peasants, between the usurocracy and whomever does an honest day’s work with his own brain or hands. I don’t know how many books one may have to read in order to understand this simple sentence, but a writer of history must count more on the selection of facts than on the bulk of exposition. A few pages of a writer like Georg Obst are worth more than the whole of D.R. Dewey’s Financial History, because Obst seeks to make himself clear to the reader, whereas Dewey sought to produce a work useful to the plutocratic bosses.
The historical process has been understood at various times, but this understanding on the part of a diligent minority fighting for the public good is again and again thrust down beneath the surface. In 1878 my grandfather said the same things that I’m saying now, but the memory of his efforts has been obliterated. The same applies to the revelations of men like Calhoun, Jackson, and Van Buren. Forty years ago Brooks Adams assembled some very significant facts, but his books were not widely read. He had no vocation for martyrdom, he confessed with irony.
There are, perhaps, thirty books a knowledge of which will enable us to understand how the American Revolution has been, and is still being, continued by the Italian Revolution, but none of these thirty books will be found on the bookstalls. It took me seven years to get hold of a set of The Works of John Adams, published in 1850-56 in ten volumes, edited with a Life of the Author by Charles Francis Adams, grandson of the Father of the Nation. Besides, these works are partly incomprehensible to anyone who is not already provided with some knowledge of economic or, more specifically, monetary matters.
If you can understand the cause, or causes, of one war, you will understand the cause or causes of several—perhaps of all. But the fundamental causes of war have received little publicity. Schoolbooks do not disclose the inner workings of banks. The mystery of economics has been more jealously guarded than were ever the mysteries of Eleusis. And the Central Bank of Greece was at Delphi.
In the nineteenth century the public more or less believed that political economy had been invented by Adam Smith. Regius Professorships were founded to falsify history and teach Whiggery. And even the Tudor monarchs used to talk about “tuning the pulpits.”
The cardinal fact of the American Revolution of 1776 was the suppression, in 1750, of the paper-money issue in Pennsylvania and other colonies, but history as taught in the U.S.A. speaks of more picturesque matters, such as the Boston Tea Party.
Ethics arise with agriculture. The ethics of the nomad do not go beyond the distinction between my sheep and your sheep. If the study of Aristotle and Demosthenes has not actually been suppressed, it has at least been soft-pedalled for perfectly deliberate and definite reasons. Certain classical authors speak too frankly for the tastes of the Grand Seigneurs of Usury.
The terminology of financial operations has already been studied and set forth with uncommon seriousness by Claudius Salmasius (De Modo Usurarum and De Foenore Trapezitico, Lugd. Bat. (Leyden), 1639 and 1640). But even those encyclopaedias that mention his name tend to ignore these two books.
What constitutes a sound basis of credit was already known and affirmed at the beginning of the seventeenth century by the founders of the Monte dei Paschi of Siena. It was, and is, the abundance, or the productive capacity, of nature taken together with the responsibility of the whole people.
I quote these apparently unconnected facts to indicate that certain high crimes are not due to any negligence on the part of a handful of scholars, and cannot be attributed to the ignorance of the whole of humanity, but that they can only happen on account of the ignorance of the great majority.
What the sages understood was recorded, but inscriptions disappear, books decay, while usurocratic publicity floods the public’s mind like a muddy tide, and the same greed, the same iniquities and monopolies rise up again subjecting the world to their foul dominion.

2012 prophecy really?

I caught the real reference to the author Daniel Pinchbeck (2012: The Return of Quetzalcoatl ) . The round robin of ancient prophecy with reinterpretations is a given,in this instance, as well as the commercial value inherent in the subject matter.
Psychedelic shamanism is a misnomer and a fundamental western misconception of indigenous rituals and spiritual penetration of the supernal worlds.
Quite correct these are the portents predicted: galactic synchronization, mass DMT activation, sudden ascension, huge solar storm, galactic superwave -- I have never pretended to have an answer.
More realistic is the 2012 year as a litmus test for expansion of consciousness, as radical a series of changes of any demarcated. Stephen Hoeller in his lectures indicates hints of this expansion in the context of gnostic revival. Deliberate actions and conscious choices in the present will so serve as this litmus test.
Despite the intensifying evolutionary pressures we face and the telescoped timeframe in which progress and change now occurs, we remain a half-awake, half-conscious species. As individuals, we tend to be vain, fragile, self-serving, ego-centered. The organizations and institutions we create reflect our individual flaws.
Never has there been more blatant truth than that quoted above.
Murray Bookchin put it, our world "will either undergo revolutionary changes, so far-reaching in character that humanity will totally transform its social relations and its very conception of life, or it will suffer an apocalypse that may well end humanity's tenure on the planet." Examining trends in climate change and species extinction, the esteemed scientist James Lovelock, who developed the Gaia Hypothesis, now thinks there could be 150 million people left alive at the end of this century. Other scientists share his ominous outlook. As resources such as fuel and fresh water become scarce, it is quite likely we will see even more horrific wars, masses of refugees, famines, droughts, pandemics, and revolutions.
The above quote is another eye opener as to a more realistic picture of humanity's possible self-directed extinction(?) or with divine oversight?
science has ignored some crucial factors. One is the possibility that human beings, through an evolution of consciousness, could develop a regenerative culture that contributes to the health of the biosphere. QUOTE Note reference to Buckminster Fuller. while liberating knowledge as a free resource and commonwealth. We have done so in large measure with the internet, with little result except the agrrandizing of an already existing greed in the name of free enterprise.
- Restoring natural systems if our greed will not thwart us from doing so
- Another ignored factor is harnessing the power of paranormal phenomena and the recognition of such phenomena, "the reality of the Psyche." accxording to Jung. If we discovered reliable means to access, utilize, and channel psychic energy, we might participate in an extremely rapid evolution of consciousness and society. Jose Arguelles has proposed that our future culture would be "psycho-technic,"
- Spiritual realization needs to be integrated with social commitment and direct action. Since the biosphere is now directly threatened by our post-industrial civilization, retreat from society is no longer possible or desirable. No matter whether we like it or not, each of is, inevitably, a social and political agent whose smallest actions have a direct influence on other people and the world around us. Quote not likely to happen.
- The possibility for a rapid regeneration of human culture is predicated on a great awakening happening quickly -- before ecological meltdown leads to systemic breakdown. People need to awaken spiritually, to realize the many dimensions of psychic life beyond those accepted by modern society, and at the same time, bring those realizations down into the daily lives and social practices. QUOTE again not likely to happen.
- A sudden quantum shift is not likely either. While it is conceivable that 2012 may see some sudden quantum shift in human consciousness or an alien landing on the White House lawn, it is also possible that we have a much longer struggle ahead of us. In that case, the end of the Long Count may still be significant as the hinge of a transition in our species' awareness.
- An ever-growing segment of humanity is becoming conscious of the culture of domination that has degraded the biosphere, annihilated local cultures, and locked us in a prison of constricted awareness. As more and more of us realize this, we will unify our intention to undertake the difficult work of superseding it. I am not so sure we will unify presupposing we have learned our blights of the past.
Recently, a $250 million film linked 2012 with a mass wipeout of humanity from
earth crust displacement and super-volcano spew. The spectacle seemed designed
to curtail any deeper thought or discussion of the subject by making it appear
ridiculous. Apparently, I was parodied in the film, as The New York Times noted:
"Though not much is made of the Mayan angle, the most amusing character, a
doomsday prophet and radio broadcaster played by Woody Harrelson, seems in hair,
beard and interests to have been drawn along the predictive lines of the real
author Daniel Pinchbeck (2012: The Return of Quetzalcoatl)."
Although my
ideas run counter to what the filmmakers propose, I was also incorporated into
their marketing and promotion machine. I was one of three "2012 experts" flown
to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, to address the global press, and then to Los Angeles
for the appropriately black-carpeted premiere. I accepted the invitations
because I hoped to use the opportunity to convey a different message. As the
media reduced my ideas to sound bites or hopelessly distorted them, I felt as if
a mask of cultural fears and misconceptions was being projected onto my face.
This was not surprising, but it was still unsettling.
I don't pretend to be
a "2012 expert" or a "doomsday prophet." I am not a specialist or scholar, but a
generalist, journalist, and freelance philosopher. In my last book, I described,
as truthfully as I could, my exploration of subjects including psychedelic
shamanism and indigenous prophecy. While a number of visionaries propose that
something radical, absolutely astonishing, and unprecedented is going to happen
as we pass through the 2012 portal -- galactic synchronization, mass DMT
activation, sudden ascension, huge solar storm, galactic superwave -- I have
never pretended to have an answer. I don't know what the Classic Maya understood
exactly or what means they used to codify their knowledge. While a Long Count
cycle of over five thousand years ends in 2012, there is scant evidence they
thought any particular event would occur at that precise time.
Despite all
of the question marks around the subject, "2012" can be useful as a focusing
lens or "a litmus test for consciousness," as author Mark Heley proposes.
Instead of fixating on any future event, we need to realize that any positive
transformation, whether in 2012 or after, will only be the result of deliberate
actions and conscious choices made by human beings in the present. This much is inarguable: We find ourselves in a window of
opportunity where we either radically change our direction as a species or face
devastating consequences. We are at that threshold where, as the social
ecologist Murray Bookchin put it, our world "will either undergo revolutionary
changes, so far-reaching in character that humanity will totally transform its
social relations and its very conception of life, or it will suffer an
apocalypse that may well end humanity's tenure on the planet." Examining
trends in climate change and species extinction, the esteemed scientist James
Lovelock, who developed the Gaia Hypothesis, now thinks there could be 150
million people left alive at the end of this century. Other scientists share his
ominous outlook. As resources such as fuel and fresh water become scarce, it is
quite likely we will see even more horrific wars, masses of refugees, famines,
droughts, pandemics, and revolutions.
If the outlook from a purely empirical
perspective looks bleak, the good news is that science has ignored some crucial
factors. One is the possibility that human beings, through an evolution of
consciousness, could develop a regenerative culture that contributes to the
health of the biosphere. In the 1960s, the design scientist Buckminster Fuller
proposed that society could be redesigned to be "comprehensively successful" for
everyone on earth. In the short term, we could become far more flexible and
resilient, instituting a global program that re-localizes basic essentials, such
as growing food, producing energy, making clothes and shelter, while liberating
knowledge as a free resource and commonwealth. We could institute "cradle to
cradle" manufacturing practices, and use satyagraha techniques to stop the
spread of GMOs. We could replace money, as a basic instrument, by new systems
for exchanging value that support collaboration and trust over competition and
self-interest. Despite the system's inertia, we have the capacity to restore the
natural systems we have corrupted, and create a new planetary culture based on
communality of interest.
Another factor ignored by science and the
mainstream is the reality of paranormal phenomena, psychic energy, or what Carl
Jung called "the reality of the Psyche." There is much evidence for the
existence of all sorts of extraordinary psychic effects, and many people have
direct experience of such phenomena. As an analogy, we can consider the recent
discovery and application of electricity. Once engineers learned how to conduct
and store electricity in the 19th Century, we transformed the entire earth in a
blink of evolutionary time. If we discovered reliable means to access, utilize,
and channel psychic energy, we might participate in an extremely rapid evolution
of consciousness and society. Jose Arguelles has proposed that our future
culture would be "psycho-technic," applying our modern technical capacities to
the realms of the psyche that modern society lost contact with in the last
centuries.
The possibility for a rapid regeneration of human culture is
predicated on a great awakening happening quickly -- before ecological meltdown
leads to systemic breakdown. People need to awaken spiritually, to realize the
many dimensions of psychic life beyond those accepted by modern society, and at
the same time, bring those realizations down into the daily lives and social
practices. Spiritual realization needs to be integrated with social commitment
and direct action. Since the biosphere is now directly threatened by our
post-industrial civilization, retreat from society is no longer possible or
desirable. No matter whether we like it or not, each of is, inevitably, a social
and political agent whose smallest actions have a direct influence on other
people and the world around us. Our current culture enshrines irresponsibility,
greed, and waste. If the human species wants to survive, the civilization that
replaces this one is going to have a different set of values and a revamped
operating system.
While it is conceivable that 2012 may see some sudden
quantum shift in human consciousness or an alien landing on the White House
lawn, it is also possible that we have a much longer struggle ahead of us. In
that case, the end of the Long Count may still be significant as the hinge of a
transition in our species' awareness. An ever-growing segment of humanity is
becoming conscious of the culture of domination that has degraded the biosphere,
annihilated local cultures, and locked us in a prison of constricted awareness.
As more and more of us realize this, we will unify our intention to undertake
the difficult work of superseding it.

ayahuasca integration part II
The maestras as healers were channels and Isabel's vision of "we were all roots and the curanderas were at the bottom" to spread world wide. We are at the juncture of planetary transformation, and working with sacred plants is to bring light into the world.
Daniela, 43, from Holland, learned a lot from other people in the group
also. She thought that the plant puts the group together, so you can meet
certain people and experience certain situations, so that you can learn from
each other. "Ayahuasca calls everybody to work with her," and "if everyone
in the world did ayahuasca, the world would be an amazing place." Then she
added, with a laugh, "all politicians should be locked into the jungle for at
least a month!"
Isabel, 36 an actress from the USA, says, "I think spirit
guided me here, to where I needed to be, even without knowing it. I feel
really blessed to have found it, such an amazing community space. I have
seen more healing here than any other ayahuasa space, it is shocking, and it
will continue when people go home, which is amazing." During her process,
Isabel says, "I received information that my stomach was carrying negative
energy, which I did not realize before. I received such a powerful healing
one night in ceremony, it was so obvious I was being healed through the icaros
and the physical movements they did, it calmed it, and made me purge so to get
rid of it." About the group experience, she remarks, "the difference
in people from when they arrived to when they left -- the lightness in people's
faces, the way they carry themselves, the love that these women emanated.
They were the channels from this amazing plant to us." Another night she
had a vision, "that we were all roots, the curanderas were at the bottom and our
limbs were attaching to become a part of the root system to spread all over the
world."
The Future is Bright
Many people had this vision
about the potential of ayahuasca, me included. Matthew concurs that
those who come to the Temple, "become fertilized with the seeds of light and
positive energy -- and return to the west newly fertilized, to raise awareness
and touch others with their light, and demonstrate the benefits of working with
sacred plants. If enough people do this, then real planetary change can be
affected." We are now at a great juncture of planetary transformation; we
do nothing and let the planet die, or we change. I hope to play a part in
this great mission and that when I return home and my friends and acquaintances
see the miraculous change in me, that they too will be inspired to change their
lives and become what they truly want to be. I feel great hope for the
planets future. And I honestly believe the Temple of the Way of Light is birthing a whole
new world.

Ayahuasca - integrating the changes ,retaining them
I Personal development a lifelong committment. Not a magic wand.Necesssity for continued persoal development.Physical therapy and massage.Attended 3 workshops. Amazing job done by the women attendant/healers.Massages and bathing in floral concoction.
II My process was utterly supported through the highs and the lows. I was tended to and nurtured with gentle compassion. And I experienced a miracle, nothing short of a cure. My process is not finished yet. After a convalescing period, I will return to the temple to finish my physical cleansing and continue my personal growth. quote
III Judy age 35 explained the experience as detox help with addictions, she gained help direction and focus and help with her "demons". Note the action taken by the maestras.
IV. Toby the writer from Denmark. Note his comments.
V Tracie Tracie, 44, from Australia, had an auditory journey one night that started with a hum, she could feel it in her whole body. "With every in breath it raised me higher so that I was hovering in the air and with every out breath I came down like a leaf to the ground -- such a lightness!'
VI Note Cielo and reference to Kananga and the vision of the centipede.
VII Indigo's description of distance healing and his vision of faeries.
Whilst the medicine works in magical ways, delivering profound insight and
transformation, it is also very important to understand and respect that there
is an integration period after the work. This means sticking with some
dietary and sexual restrictions for a period after the work and also being
conscious of taking care of oneself in appropriate ways, in the interest of
retaining the changes. Ayahuasca will continue to work in the body and
energetic field for a long time after an intensive workshop. Revelations,
liberation from stuck patterns, and changes in behavior may be experienced
months later. The work is suitable for people who recognize that personal
development is a lifelong commitment. Ayahuasca is not a magic wand to
make all the bad stuff disappear. It takes a while to get to the final
layer of the onion, which is why continued personal development is necessary;
some time is needed for the benefits to integrate into the rest of your life.
In my case, I have to rest for a number of months, without taking ayahuasca,
to allow my body to integrate the massive changes. I have to be conscious
of my diet and vigilant to the needs of my body. It would be highly
destructive for me to be drinking alcohol, undertaking strenuous physical
activity, or even getting back into a stressful job situation immediately.
All this would obstruct a thorough healing, and in fact, may even reverse all
the good work. I recognize that I need a lot of physical therapy, such as
massage, to help my body get used to its new configuration. Moreover, in
ceremony, I have been shown the areas that need a bit of extra care. And
so my focus is now to take care of my physical needs first and foremost.
For most people, one workshop at the Temple is enough to significantly
transform a life. With the gravity of my particular case it was clear I
had more work than most to do, after all I had a very serious and deeply
embedded illness that has been eating at me for all of my adult life. I
attended three workshops in a row, all the while observing and marveling at
how these women worked and how their intervention was reflected in the amazing
progress of my healing. By night they helped me through the physical
processes the medicine induced, and by day they dropped lime juice into my
eyes. They noted that part of the illness resided in my eyes -- I have
always had puffy eyes and in fact the tumor was directly behind my right
eye. Although it stung, my tears would wash away the acidic juice along
with plenty of grungy material. They would also give us massage every day
and bathe us in a floral concoction that was designed to protect and bring love,
luck, and harmony.
The care I received at the Temple was exemplary, and
inspiring, to work with such powerful, yet humble women. My process was
utterly supported through the highs and the lows. I was tended to and
nurtured with gentle compassion. And I experienced a miracle, nothing
short of a cure. My process is not finished yet. After a
convalescing period, I will return to the temple to finish my physical cleansing
and continue my personal growth.
Other People at the Temple
I
met people of all walks, types and ages at the Temple. All had different
reasons for coming and of course unique experiences.
Toby, 62, a
writer from Denmark, came "because my life was at standstill after a broken
relationship and a deep depression. I became self destructive, my mind had
turned black." After his retreat, Toby wrote to me, "I had dramatic and
profound experiences and visions. The ayahuasca cleaned my body and reset
my mind. To explain is impossible, it is so personal and individual, but
it has changed my life. Happiness and energy is flowing freely through my
veins and I was not surprised when my closest relatives confirmed the changes
when they met me shortly after the trip to Peru. Years of therapy and
psychoanalysis would not have been able to do this healing. My life is
back on track and I am grateful."Virginie, 27, a student and traveler from France, came to the temple because she felt she needed a ritual to mark her passing from youth into adulthood. She was returning to Europe after extensive travels in South America and she wanted to clear any debris and not fall back into old patterns on her return. She felt she got rid of a lot of her childhood fears and insecurities, through purging, by crying and vomiting. Furthermore, she stopped smoking, after experiencing that she had received a new set of lungs during the workshop. She said she understood that the cigarette smoke was her mental confusion, a foggy blanket which, one evening in ceremony, she started to blow and blow, blowing all the smoke out of her system, she could feel charred heavy energy coming out with her breaths. She summed it up at the end by commenting, "I feel super good and centered."
Judy, 35, a mental heath worker from Ireland, described her reasons for coming to the temple as, "needing help with my addictions, needing healing, direction, and focus. And I wanted to detox." The experience for her was very difficult, but also wonderful. "I faced all my demons; I went through every kind of emotion possible. It was like I already died and went to my own purgatory, this felt really familiar and very claustrophobic. It sounds strange but I was trying to make sure I was still part of my soul. The Maestras massaged my tummy and blew on my head. One of them sang to me while I lay in the fetal position and sucked my thumb. Maybe I was being born again." She concluded that the whole experience was amazingly powerful and intense.
Marcel, 35, a professional sportsman from Switzerland, came to the temple because he wanted to change his life, to deal with his frustration, to improve his energy levels and because he very much wanted to find answers. And he got his answers about "illusion and reality, fear and trust, and about love." He said every night in ceremony was special in a different way, with each passing night, he felt his process was moving forward, always learning. "It was really tough, I had to fight fear I have had all my life. Ayahuasca cut through the fear and opened new doors. For me ayahuasca is pure love." On his way out of the temple he commented, "I am not 100% sure I can handle all this, but whatever happens it's all learning, I keep on working on removing the fear to have a beautiful life."
A Dutch woman, Vanya, 43, a massage therapist, said that in one ceremony, she faced her family. She explained that they tend to take advantage of her, and do not take her seriously by disregarding her. She doesn't fight her corner, saying nothing, but it hurts her. She realized that when she returned home she would have to have a serious talk with them, and ayahuasca had given her the impetus and courage to do it.
Tracie, 44, from Australia, had an auditory journey one night that started with a hum, she could feel it in her whole body. "With every in breath it raised me higher so that I was hovering in the air and with every out breath I came down like a leaf to the ground -- such a lightness!'
Temu, 27, from Finland, came for a depression. He prepared mentally for a long time to come to the retreat, as he had a lot of fear about it. His process involved a lot of internal dialogue and facing his fears and anxieties, "ultimately getting the awareness that everything is actually alright, I don't have to worry, I am taken care of, even though I don't always realize it. In the process I also had a rebirth of my connection with nature, remembering that I am a part of this wholeness, this nature." He finds it hard to verbalize his final ceremony, summing it up by saying he had a lifetime of insights and lessons.
Cielo, 52, Australian and the administrator for the Temple, told me that one night she had a pain in her stomach, and Horacio, one of the Meastros, sang to her and sucked out the bad energy using "Kananga" (a kind of floral infused water), she lay down and had a vision of a huge white centipede undulating, as it rose up it started to transform into something else. She noticed that the women were doing something fiddling with something on the ground; she went to look and saw that they were killing a centipede. They confirmed that the bad feeling in her stomach was in the energetic form of a centipede and that following the healing it had manifested into physical reality.
Indigo, a 40 year old farmer from USA, "I had one experience where I was too tired to come to ceremony, so I was sleeping in my tambo. Sometime later, I could hear the Maestras singing, but my tambo is far away, the singing was so loud and clear, I thought she was with me. I could feel the energy pulling me, moving things inside my body. I went into a vision of beautiful fairies who wanted to take me somewhere, but my mind got scared, because I had not drunk ayahuasca that night. This was not a dream. I decided to go to the ceremony two hours after it had started; it was not too late. A Maestra came to sing to me, I didn't need to drink, I was getting the same healing. I asked Rosa (one of the Maestra's) about it the next day, and she said she had done a distant healing. That was pretty profound for me." She adds, "I feel I learned a lot not just from the Maestras but also from the people here. It's a place where people gather and share and help each other. As the week went on people's stuff was coming out. I got into a thing with someone, it was very significant, I wasn't even thinking of it, but that argument was my core issue being expressed. That night, in ceremony, was difficult, I could feel the anger coming out and going under me, and since then I have been going even deeper. The medicine is always working, even when sleeping and dreaming. It is important to pay attention to everything that happens here."
