Can Human Nature Be Changed? Pt II

http://www.brainwaving.com/2009/12/30/can-human-nature-be-changed/

  • What is the meaning of the transcending of the ego. Is it merely a physical reaction of the cells and their processes?

And here we come to the nub of the matter. Consciousness is, whatever else you can say about it, a product of the brain metabolism, the oxidation of glucose. It is produced in the brain cells. It is not a cloud or mysterious vapour from the outer universe. It arises in the brain and nowhere else. When the heart stops beating that is the end of it. The “effortless awareness”, the “impersonal and untroubled consciousness”, which Huxley describes, is a state of mind in which the Ego is transcended. What does this actually mean? Let me explain

  • You can think of the Ego, for all intents and purposes, as the speech system. It is in fact responsible for keeping that system in operation. By controlling the distribution of blood in the brain it ensures priority to the centres for talking, listening, reading and writing. The way it controls the blood distribution is by having a grip on the arteries in the brain; by constricting those leading elsewhere it concentrates the blood in the speech centres first and foremost.
Brain functions - the brain as sponge. It is as if the brain is a sponge with a limited amount of water in. To concentrate water in one part you must squeeze the sponge and, in so doing, restrict the supply to the rest of the sponge. In the brain of the adult only about 5% of the cortical layer is in function at any one time. There is not enough blood for more than that to function at the level of consciousness. For the function of a brain cell to become conscious it requires a certain volume of blood to reach it. Below that level it will survive, remain in existence, but its specialized function will not reach consciousness.
  • When it is combusted with oxygen in the brain it releases the energy stored in it as consciousness, another form of energy, or light. Glucose and oxygen reach the brain cells in the blood. So the consciousness of a function, say the smell of coffee, depends on a sufficient blood supply to that centre (the olfactory in this case).
  • The speech centres are the latest to have evolved in the brain. They are situated in the cortical layer right at the top, as far away from the heart as you can get. What Bart realized was that by adopting the upright position man was placing himself in the position of a hostage to gravity. The heart had to pump the blood up into his brain in direct defiance of that universal force. There are two fluids in the brain, blood and water (actually cerebrospinal fluid (csf), but essentially, for the purposes of the present argument it is water).
  • Blood is heavier than water and the csf is produced and circulates only inside the central nervous system (the brain and spinal cord), so it has squatters’ rights, so to speak, – it has nowhere else to go – whereas the blood obviously circulates around the entire organism. The result of this is the loss of some blood from the brain relative to the horizontal position. As the blood drains away, it is replaced by the lighter csf. The parts of the brain that will suffer most from this are obviously the parts farthest from the heart, which would include the speech centres if the Ego mechanism had not evolved to preclude this eventuality.
  • This loss means the loss of a degree of consciousness, since there will be less blood available for the brain cells and therefore less of them will be able to function at the conscious level. Mythologically, this loss has been called the Fall of Man. We have fallen from a state of animal grace. The “knowledge of good and evil” comes with self-consciousness, a result of the creation of language.

Consciousness as a physical process merely is explained as blood supply to the brain, a premium put on cerebral spinal fluid as it has nowhere else to go. This explanation eliminates all extraneous mystical influences impinging from without in the cosmos at large. So it seems, and consequently is wanting as an explanation insofar as it limits to the physical processes alone.

  • And yet the man or mystic on the Clapham omnibus would in all probability
be shocked to have their “union with God” reduced to a matter of muscle and
blood! (I speak not absolutely literally here, because strictly speaking blood
vessels are not muscles, but they can be constricted to control the distribution
of blood, so it comes to much the same thing.)
And here we come to the nub of
the matter. Consciousness is, whatever else you can say about it, a product of
the brain metabolism, the oxidation of glucose. It is produced in the brain
cells. It is not a cloud or mysterious vapour from the outer universe. It arises
in the brain and nowhere else. When the heart stops beating that is the end of
it. The “effortless awareness”, the “impersonal and untroubled consciousness”,
which Huxley describes, is a state of mind in which the Ego is transcended. What
does this actually mean? Let me explain.
The Ego is the agency through which
the central nervous system directs the blood to the parts of the brain in
action. Which parts those are depends on whether the Ego allows the blood to get
to them or not. You can think of the Ego, for all intents and purposes, as the
speech system. It is in fact responsible for keeping that system in operation.
By controlling the distribution of blood in the brain it ensures priority to the
centres for talking, listening, reading and writing. The way it controls the
blood distribution is by having a grip on the arteries in the brain; by
constricting those leading elsewhere it concentrates the blood in the speech
    centres first and foremost.
It is as if the brain is a sponge with a limited
amount of water in. To concentrate water in one part you must squeeze the sponge
and, in so doing, restrict the supply to the rest of the sponge.
    In the brain
of the adult only about 5% of the cortical layer is in function at any one time.
There is not enough blood for more than that to function at the level of
consciousness. For the function of a brain cell to become conscious it requires
a certain volume of blood to reach it. Below that level it will survive, remain
in existence, but its specialized function will not reach consciousness. It
will, as it were, remain in the dark. Consciousness is like a beam of light
which can be directed onto the function of a cell, or a collection of cells, a
brain centre. Without that light directed onto it the particular function
remains unconscious. We are not aware of it. The light is the effect of the
oxidation of glucose. Glucose is the encapsulation of sunlight in a plant
through the process of photosynthesis. When it is combusted with oxygen in the
brain it releases the energy stored in it as consciousness, another form of
energy, or light. Glucose and oxygen reach the brain cells in the blood. So the
consciousness of a function, say the smell of coffee, depends on a sufficient
blood supply to that centre (the olfactory in this case). It will then light up
and we become aware of it. Alternatively, if we are concentrating very hard on a
piece of writing, for example – say, studying for an exam – we can completely
repress all other perceptions, including the smell of coffee, to keep totally
focussed on the meaning of the words.
The speech centres are the latest to
have evolved in the brain. They are situated in the cortical layer right at the
top, as far away from the heart as you can get. What Bart realized was that by
adopting the upright position man was placing himself in the position of a
hostage to gravity. The heart had to pump the blood up into his brain in direct
defiance of that universal force. There are two fluids in the brain, blood and
water (actually cerebrospinal fluid (csf), but essentially, for the purposes of
the present argument it is water). Blood is heavier than water and the csf is
produced and circulates only inside the central nervous system (the brain and
spinal cord), so it has squatters’ rights, so to speak, – it has nowhere else to
go – whereas the blood obviously circulates around the entire organism. The
result of this is the loss of some blood from the brain relative to the
horizontal position. As the blood drains away, it is replaced by the lighter
csf. The parts of the brain that will suffer most from this are obviously the
parts farthest from the heart, which would include the speech centres if the Ego
mechanism had not evolved to preclude this eventuality.
    This loss means the
loss of a degree of consciousness, since there will be less blood available for
the brain cells and therefore less of them will be able to function at the
conscious level. Mythologically, this loss has been called the Fall of Man. We

    Heinz Valentin Hampejs

The goals and defined objectives of shamanistic medicine and therapy are put in the clearest perspective I have yet seen:

    • The proven history of Shamanism is notorious and without doubt

    • Modern medicine is a baby of brief duration, mistaken theses and encompasses the limitations of scientific method and theory and embraces neither the realm of consciousness nor connects to that world where healing is situated.

    • The natural sciences do not encompass the ethics of Shamanistic healing nor its broad truths or common sense, nor dothey have that intention.

    • This quote from the below article says it all : Because the threat of an apocalyptic self-destruction of the whole humanity represents unquestionably – apart from the undoubtedly also existent blessings of our scientific era – the acquisition of much bigger weight of the natural sciences...

    • have forgotten that they are children of our Mother Earth and that their health and true happiness depend indispensably on the lived harmony with the created powers of the Nature as well as with the laws of the Great and Almighty Creative Spirit that acts in her. Even the public institutions of health of the formal medicine are not very aware that this represents a basic prerequisite for the restoration of the corporal and spiritual health of every one. We have a collective lapse of memory of mother earth and the connected worlds birdged by the sacred power plants.

    • "Shamanic Ecstasy of Consciousness." the mysticism and the connection need reestablishment. This is in process of being accomplished.

    • Shamanic practices knowledge and practices: cure and teaching with Shamanic Medicine, which constitutes a system of knowledge and practices focused basically on the medicinal alteration of the therapist's consciousness and perception and – given the case – also of the patient. Medicinal plants is integral to shamanic healing and alters the consciousness of therapist and patient.

    • Awakening of the Dr. within-The main objective of our Seminaries consequently consists of the shared awakening and living experience of this Shamanic Ecstasy of Consciousness", because with it also takes place simultaneously the awakening of our inherent and natural healing potency ("The Doctor Within").

    • For this, we make use of the shamanic methods transmitted since immemorial times as a universal strategy of the whole humanity for the acquisition of personal and collective knowledge, strength and health. Shamanic methods have been transmitted from time immemoria with collective knowledge being the main conduit over personal knowledge although the both are necessarily interrelated.

    • The South American lineage of Indian Shamanism distinguishes itself mainly of an imposing abundance of very extraordinary healing plants. Among them we also find the particularly called "Sacred Power Plants", as for example the San Pedro cactus (botanical name: Trichocereus Pacchanoi) of the Andean mountains and – among many others – the Ayahuasca vine (botanical name: Banisteriopsis Caapi) of the tropical forests of the Amazon basin. To them we owe the activation and energetic transformation of our lucid every day’s consciousness and of our accustomed and daily sensorial perception into the "Shamanic Ecstasy of Consciousness", which is indispensable for the shamanic cure. Shamanic ecstasy is attained through the sacred power and healing plants.

    • Liberation of vital blocked energy patterns: Because through waking up that latent "Doctor Within" in the deepest (archetypal or transpersonal) layers of our subconsciousness, simultaneously takes place a rectifying reprogramming of the not well driven vital impulses and a liberating transformation of blocked vital energy patterns. The word archetypal is often used in the writings of Jung who wrote in the initial stages of our understanding of archetypes and consciousness, and this was made manifest to our conscious states in the program of attaining to ecstatic consciousness, limited at one time to the gnostic adepts of former ages.
    • Shamanic Christmas, 2004, Venezuela Due to the awakening of our dormant capacities and to the reactivation of our natural, original and sensitive communication and interaction with the energies of Nature and the Creator's Divine Spirit – frequently already lost since a long time, Awakening of our dormant capacities and t necessity of reconnection with Creator's divine spirit is the function of Shamanistic healing resulting in the ecstasy of consciousness alluded to earlier.
    • Disharmonies of health can be treated at their active roots: disease is perceived as disharmonies and non connections to the spiritual worlds in one way or another.
    • disharmonies of health can be treated at their very active roots (of the subtle energy body). The lack of happiness and of the reason of living (in serious depressions or addictive illnesses), inexplicable anguishes (frequently due to traumatic experiences in the past of the life), sick features of the personality (as paranoiac or passionate habits), equally as disorders of the organic functions and degenerative illnesses can become healed definitely.
    • Due to the millennial tradition of Shamanism, where the world of the vision and the faith still represented the unquestionable way for cure, we will also experience, in this inner awakening, the domination of the limiting shackles of our thoughts and our mental understanding. Thus, we begin to discover the marvels of an indescribable, mystic and wholesome perception of the reality. Mystic and wholesome perceptions are likened to unshackling the limitations of our thoughts. This unshackling is a part of this referred to "inner awakening".
    • The role of the perennial chatterers and deliberate declaimers who never know of what they speak and create chaos out of context.problematic and contradictory topic for a lot of people. In our days, numerous chatterers, pseudo-shamans, businesspersons and writers of sensationalist articles, attracted in certain way like moths by these footlights, poison the nectar of the wisdom of the Shamanic Medicine taken care of for millennia.
    • Internal healing and authentic Shamanism are what we are alluding to.
    • Never confuse Shamanic Medicine with the doubtful practices and the black magic of the witchdoctors, sorcerers, occultists, impostors and swindlers, for it, in fact, represents the inherited wisdom of our ancestors of humanity, directed toward the ingenious activation of our internal healing potential.
    • For obvious reasons, it is very impossible for the non-professional to be able to separate in this field the straw from the wheat, since there is little wheat (authentic shamans), a lot of straw and still much more non-professionals with frequently adventurous, subjective and speculative views on Shamanism. However, we should not allow becoming victims of the erroneous opinion that there is no wheat, because the field had begun to cover entirely with weeds. The old parable of the wheat and the weeds comes to mind at this juncture.
    • For that reason, we are sincerely glad to have found with Dr. Hampejs an authentic wisdom holder of Indian Shamanism. However, I should still advance a thing: Anyone that wants to discover the mystic phenomena of the shamanic cure has to be willing, from the very beginning, to abandon attitudes of intellectual or scientific arrogance. For the uninitiated participants, these experiences still are strange and unknown at first and it needs an expert leadership, to be able to benefit from them for the sake of healing purposes. Try, with an open heart, to understand yourself as a student that goes learning in a very new way, if you want to reach the access to those secrets of the life, which Shamanic Medicine can provide. Another statement comes to minjd from the ancient texts,"he who humbles himself shall be exalted, and he who exalts himself shall be abased".
    • Shamanic rituals in the Sacred Mountains of Chivacoa in the State Yaracuy of Venezuela. There we will obtain the attendance and the blessings from the World of the Good Spirits guided by the legendary Indian Queen María Lionza. I will certainly look up these allusions to get a better understanding of these rituals and mountains.
    • perceive and use hierarchies of entities or spirits of the elements

Allow me in this new opportunity to familiarize
you with the nature of our Seminars. To tell the truth, the proven history
of Shamanism through the millennia is already notorious.
    Archaeological, ethnological and anthropological
investigations verified this without leaving any doubt.

Which – on the other hand – will the duration of the modern scientific or formal medicine be, that
comparatively is only a baby of some few centuries, whose brief history
distinguishes itself by a game of advances and theories more and more
accelerated and chancy and ever newer and modern "last" data of the
    reality of life?

Certainly, for the sane reason it is easy to understand
that the ancestral wisdom of Shamanic Medicine would not really have to justify
itself before the priority pretensions of this scientific baby, because Shamanic Medicine qualifies above all by a deep
and true respect for life. The just rational natural sciences cannot demand
easily this ethical quality without any
    opposition
. All those gigantic nuclear, chemical,
biological and high tech destruction means that are filling the arsenals of the
militaries more than ever today, do evidence very clearly about what we are
talking here; Because the threat of an apocalyptic
self-destruction of the whole humanity represents unquestionably – apart
from the undoubtedly also existent blessings of our scientific era – the
acquisition of much bigger weight of the natural sciences.
    Beyond
it, unfortunately, men and women, without number in our modern industrial
societies, have forgotten that they are
children of our Mother Earth and that their health and true happiness
depend indispensably on the lived harmony with the created powers of
the Nature as well as with the laws of the Great and Almighty Creative

    Even the public
institutions of health of the formal medicine are not very aware that this
represents a basic prerequisite for the restoration of the corporal and
    spiritual health of every one
    .

In advance, I would like to remind
you of the particular circumstances that should be taken into account at the
cure and teaching with Shamanic Medicine, which constitutes a system of
knowledge and practices focused basically on the medicinal alteration
of the therapist's consciousness and perception and – given the case – also of
    the patient
. In the specialized anthropological literature, this
modification of the consciousness and perception is denominated as "Shamanic Ecstasy of Consciousness."

The main objective of our Seminaries consequently
consists of the shared awakening and living experience of this
Shamanic Ecstasy of Consciousness", because with it also takes place
simultaneously the awakening of our inherent and
natural healing potency ("The Doctor Within").

shamanic, cure of the Endogenous Depression, the Multiple Sclerosis and other
Degenerative illnesses – incurable for the formal western medicine –
indispensably requires a minimum of three weeks. The healing of Drug Addiction
requires a special program of at least four weeks, which we will carry out on a
Place of Power, especially proper to this objective, in the Sacred Mountains of
    Chivacoa
in the State Yaracuy of Venezuela. There we will obtain the attendance
and the blessings from the World of the Good Spirits guided by the legendary

Day 16+17 Rest and trips B/S

Day 18 Sixth Ritual: "A Shamanic Power Walk"

    Our penultimate
ritual is a "Shamanic Walk of Power". The shamans of all the cultures know,
perceive and use hierarchies of entities or spirits of the elements of the
nature (such as those of the rainbow, the mountains, the sources, the
lakes, the trees, plants, crystals, stones and minerals) as well as places
of power, where these forces or sources of vibrations can be used for the
purification and the cure of men.

    Shamanic Power Walk,
    VenezuelaFor
this reason, our last ritual takes place in the day. As we carry out this walk
in the mountains of the Andes In the “Shamanic Ecstasy of Consciousness”,
the energy harmonies of their healthy nature will take us toward a state of
purified and strengthened vitality. We experience psychically and
physically how "negative energies" are removed and left behind and purity,
strength, clarity and vitality are received in exchange. (Fast)

    "There
the spirit rises over the body and meets with the totality, there I was pure and
converted into entirely clear energy, – and today I know that it was that
moment, in which I was cured". (Comment from an Austrian participant)

people with serious desires for health or self-realization are cordially
welcome, inclusive children, supposing that the parents or custody persons
hand us over a declaration of written conformity. Since the attendants must
integrate themselves equally in the healing work, they are also subject to the
participation conditions. The Shamanic Medicine facilitates in an almost
incomparable way the cure of most of the incurable illnesses for the formal
western medicine and inclusive for most of alternative healing methods. In
function of the graveness and the precedent duration of chronic illnesses (like
for e.g. the Endogenous Depression, the Multiple Sclerosis and other
Degenerative Illnesses), the cure requires at least three weeks. The definitive
cure (and not only transitory detoxification) of Addictive Illnesses requires a
special program of at least four weeks in the Sacred Mountains of Chivacoa, in
the State Yaracuy of Venezuela. For this program we must charge an
    additional cost of 150. - US$.

THE COST per person is 1850. - US
dollar for 15 days and 2775. - US dollar for 23 days. Please confirm your
ENROLLMENT with the payment of 20% of the total cost at least eight weeks before
    the beginning of the program.
Please, hand over the remaining balance at the
    beginning of the course.

The total cost includes The terrestrial
trips in Mérida from and to the airport, the lodging in double rooms (please,
consider extra cost for single rooms – 15 respectively 23 nights) in a
select inn, two meals per day as exposed in the chronogram (B: Strong
Breakfast at 10 in the morning ["Brunch"], S: Supper; Preparatory fast in
    the days of the rituals - days 03, 06, 09,12, 15, 18, 21); drinkable water, tea
and the medicinal program with rituals, medicines and treatments are
included in the total cost of participation.

    The cost doesn't
include The lodging before and after the program, alcoholic drinks, tips,
acquisitions or personal services and your travel insurance are not included in
    the total cost of participation.

    GENERAL INFORMATION OF THE TRIP
    AND THE BANK CONNECTION

    · Your flight finishes in Caracas.

    In
case that your airplane would land in Caracas in the late afternoon, you will
have to spend the night there (for e.g. in the nice hotel Santiago * * * that is
safe, comfortable and economic and only 15 minutes of the airport), since
the national flights to Mérida will be carried out only until 6 PM. Naturally
you could find a good hotel in Caracas by means of the Internet and already
carry out the reservation of a room from now on. Good hotels send a Shuttle Bus
to pick you up at the airport.

Make the reservation for your flight to
Caracas as soon as possible (!), so that it doesn't happen that you cannot
get the trip to the wanted date.

    · For security reasons it is likewise
advisable to make the reservation for your flight from Caracas to Mérida by
means of the Internet (e.g. with AVIOR, AVENSA, STA. BÁRBARA or AERO POSTAL –
the lines of national flights), although the tickets can usually also be
bought in the windows of the section for the national flights of the airport
immediately before the take off. However, during the traded days and in the high
season of tourism serious difficulties can take place in this respect. Please
communicate with me from Caracas and indicate me on time the hour of your
    landing foreseen in Mérida (Tel.: 0274 - 414.55.93, Mobil: 0416 - 470.35.79), in
order to be able to pick you up from the airport on time, because from my house
I need about 1 ½ - hours to arrive there. We meet in the airport restaurant.

    · The Dollars respectively Euros for your small expenses can be changed,
of course, officially in Venezuela, but the official exchange rate is not
very favorable (at the moment it is at 2150. - Bolívar for 1. - US $). However,
when arriving in Caracas you immediately will be surrounded by innumerable
unofficial money-changers, who will offer you a much better exchange rate,
located at the moment at about 2450. - Bolívar for 1. - US $ or in about 13%
better than the official exchange rate. For the same reason it is not advisable
to bring traveler checks, because then you will be forced to change to the
official exchange rate. To Venezuela it is necessary to bring the Dollars or
    Euros cash!

Vaccines are not needed for Venezuela.

    · The
Seminars take place all the year round. In order to be able to make the
reservations for a convenient accommodation in the surroundings of Mérida
in time, the remittance of 20 percent of the seminar dues (370. - U.S. $ for 15
days, 555. - U.S. $ for 23 days) must arrive at least 6 weeks before, in the
high tourist season (May, July, August and for Christmas) however at least eight
weeks before the beginning of the seminar. For that there are two
    remittance possibilities:

    1. with DHL (Western Union)
    2. as bank
    remittance

In principle, I recommend you to perform the remittance of
your enrolment fee for Mérida / Venezuela with DHL (Western Union), since this
is the quickest and surest way for it. Bank remittances to Venezuela
unfortunately can take up to four weeks. Below, I inform you nevertheless
also of my bank connection data. Please send me then immediately the
confirmation of your order for remittance per e-mail:

Dr. Hampejs is a Medical man in General Medicine, specialized in Neurology and Psychiatry and devoted as officially recognized Shamán since more than 25 years to the investigation, the practice and the teaching of the North and South American Shamanism. In 1991, with the writing of the scientific monograph "El Éxtasis Shamánico de la Conciencia" (German version: Die Schamanische Bewusstseinsekstase”), the Ministry of Public Health of Ecuador also granted him the official recognition as expert for Latin American Shamanism. The author offers the German version of his book gladly for free, since his investigations display the essential, scientifically irrefutable arguments for the revaluation and the recognition of the efficiency of the shamanic cure that could contribute an unexpected enrichment – and from already a long necessary time ago – to the orthodox methods of the modern formal medicine. Shamanic cure for depression DR/Shaman Heinz Valentin Hampejs

REINSTITUTION OF ARCHAIC HEALING OF THE INDIGENOUS PEOPLES IN THIS PRESENT AGE

This minilibrary for perusal but brings home the expanding nature of this topic and its corollaries namely shamnism and applications to consciousness.gnosis and self discovery.
    1. Shamanic curability of "endogenous Depression" - an illness of the soul characterized by psychoenergetic wexhaustion, pronings to suicide, and healings by shamanic rituals in 3 weeks.
    2. Encounter with Hilario Chiriap of the Shuara tribe: Shamanic ecstasy of consciousness; from ingestion of San Pedro medicine; prayers, mantric and shamanic healing, and invocation songs.
    3. Participant Paola age 23 deplorably crying and calling for mother. "why arwe you calling on your mother so despairingly?" Mother didn't respond because she wanted to abort you. Paola resulted in being calmed and centered. Shamanic healing got to the source of her depressive malady brought forth from her subconscious.
    4. Monica to her mother had died another infant. but the cellular memory of her body could remember the abysmal sadness given in her mother's milk to her of the tragic death of another child her little brother dying tragically.
    5. But for thinking men it should be of easy understanding at least that such a definitive CURE cannot be produced neither with antidepressive pills neither with electric shocks, classically applied in the psiquiatric hospitals (and much less with the futurist implantation of some type of chips (!)), because in the best (?) of the cases these measures would be only symptomatic, used exclusively to hide and to camouflage the symptoms of the depression - very similar to the relief of a pain with analgesic remedies that definitively cannot eliminate its cause..
    6. But apart from these "side effects", the medication of antidepressants transfers the sick making mechanisms at the bottom of the depression still more under the carpet, that is to say toward the subconscious, what prevents the patients to end up understanding their illness and to discover its possible causes, for then to be able to learn of how to overcome them. For this are indispensable the "Sacred Power Plants" of the Indian-American Shamanism, because, opposed to the concealing strategy of the classical psiquiatric treatment, they facilitate the psicocatalytic** liberation of the pathogenic material contained in the structures of our subconscious.
    7. Incrimiation as drugs by WHO of the sacred power plants. deficiency of vitality comes into being "endogenously". To understand this, no medical university education is needed, but just a healthy common sense.I suppose that your mother, for comprehensible reasons, kept secret before you such a possible crisis of consciousness that could have existed during her pregnancy, or that she could not even communicate it nowadays. To be able to liberate the subtle energy scheme (the cellular and reticular memory) of the body from such negative, destructive energies and to load it ("vitaminize" it) with natural vital forces, much deeper and more efficient instruments are needed than those that are at the disposal of the conventional psychotherapy, that is: the employment shamanically administered of the so called "Sacred Power Plants" of the Indian-American Shamanism
    8. Why, to tell the truth, should the psicocatalytic or shamanic medicines – that don't produce any dependence and are characterized by a healing power inaccessible for the formal medicine, if they are used expertly by an experienced shaman – be prohibited?;
    9. PSICOCATALITIC - Catalytic action of shamanic medicines on the subconscious liberating the hdden secrets and dangers therein.

http://http//www.quantumlifebodyworks.com/Reading/Reading.html Books well worth reading on the topicof this posting

    http://www.quantumlifebodyworks.com/Journeys/Valentin/depression/depression.htmlThe

Shamanic Cure of the DepressionIn the example of two young women in
    Ecuador:
In May 2004 a friend from Pirmasens, Germany, informed me that I
could address to the so called ("Net of competencies for depressions of
Germany") that represents an initiative aided by the European Union (UE) to
sensitize people affected by depressive illnesses and the public in general
through the Internet. Well, I had undertaken a personal initiative already at
the beginning of the month to noise abroad among friends in Europe the
information on the shamanic curability of the so called "endogenous Depression".
Naturally I was very grateful to have received this indication, because I could
address now to an already preexistent platform of information exchange, about
whose existence had not known before. It is widely known that the depression,
denominated "endogenous" by the formal medicine, is an illness of the soul,
spirit and mind, characterized by such states of psychoenergetic exhaustion,
anguishes and desperation that affected people prefer with alarming frequency to
suicide themselves in exchange for their existential martyrdom
    . The depression
is the illness with the biggest incidence of suicides at world level (!), and in
view of the shamanic curability of the depression, relatively easy
    ; it was a
genuine desire to put in circulation this information, since in my shamanic
rituals depressive patients are healed definitively in maximum three
    weeks.

    1. To tell the truth, my wife and I participated in this night ritual with the San Pedro* - medicine, carried out in the surroundings of Quito / Ecuador, only as invited shamans. Hilario Chiriap, a young shaman of the tribe of the Shuaras, who lead this ritual, honored me when inviting me spontaneously to direct the ceremony in union with him.The ingestion of the San Pedro - medicine submerged us in a special state of consciousness and perception, known as “Shamanic Ecstasy of Consciousness". We already had spent some hours in this night with prayers, mantric and shamanic healing and invocation songs, when a young female participant named Paola, approximately 23 years old, began to cry deplorably and to call for her mother with all her body shaken by continuous moving sobs: "Mama, Mama, Mama …! “. The woman's state, really worthy of pity, intensified by moments in such a way that all the other ones began to worry seriously, particularly when this situation had already continued about three hours; and neither the interventions of Hilario neither of the other participants, in their majority also familiarized with the Shamanic Medicine, were able to provide a real and effective help to the patient in this passage so dramatic of her harrowing psychic state. Suddenly I "knew", "saw", what had happened in the past of the girl's life, and without thinking it a lot, I proceeded to ask her: "Do you know, on principle, why you are calling for your mother so despairingly? “ She didn’t respond. I said: "Because, she wanted to abort you!”Then I passed over to her on the other side, and while talking to her peacefully that she would have to learn now how to forgive her mother, I gave her three blessed blows with my Medicine - Pipe on her hands, joined in prayer, on her crown, her back and her chest. “She, in these moments, was living with her mother in the same house, the one that today is her best friend and she could not know the desperate circumstances, in which her progenitor was during her pregnancy. To whom of us would not have to be forgiven something? " … After five minutes, Paola was calm and centered. In the morning she separated a little from the group, sat down above a high rock in the proximity with the body bent forward and the arm crossed on her calves and was obviously absorbed in a deep meditation.

    2. This San Pedro - Ritual was carried out in our own place of rituals in Tumbaco, near Quito, and it was under my personal direction. Mónica, an approximately forty year-old woman, was seated to my right; there were also present about eight young men and women. Having already lapsed some hours, I felt that I should help her, because she was very nauseous; and I felt that these nauseas wouldn’t diminish although she had already vomited several times. It also called my attention that she was seated with her legs attracted to her belly, in curved position like an embryo. When I blew an alcoholic extract of aromatic herbs on her hands joined by way of prayer, she entered immediately in such sobs, mewls and cries that I was moved to sit down next in order to tranquilize her with my hug. Lapsed this way more or less half hour, she calmed finally and babbled, still sobbing, that to her mother had died another infant, when she was pregnant with her.Mónica knew naturally about her little brother's tragic death, because they had related it to her, but the cellular memory of her body could remember the abysmal sadness, to which she was subjected in her mother's belly along some months during the pregnancy and the one that was still instilled into her after her birth with the maternal milk, only due to this ritual experience. In spite of all the psychiatric helps, Mónica had suffered of serious depressions during many years, without being able to even imagine, which the causes of her depression were. However, also in this case a single shamanic ceremony was needed to cure her.

With these two casuistical examples I don't want to insinuate in no way that the maternal intention of aborting the fetus or the death of an infant during the mother's pregnancy would represent the only imaginable causes for the manifestation of a depression in the later life of this fetus. If it could not be understood that these two women were liberated definitively of their depressions with these ritual experiences, it is because one doesn't simply want to understand. But for thinking men it should be of easy understanding at least that such a definitive CURE cannot be produced neither with antidepressive pills neither with electric shocks, classically applied in the psiquiatric hospitals (and much less with the futurist implantation of some type of chips (!)), because in the best (?) of the cases these measures would be only symptomatic, used exclusively to hide and to camouflage the symptoms of the depression - very similar to the relief of a pain with analgesic remedies that definitively cannot eliminate its cause.I said "in the best (?) of the cases", because it is a settled fact that the medical authorities of the USA (the FDA - Food & Drug Administration)) did the antidepressants put in the stool of accused: It was recognized that they are related to a bigger suicide risk among the youths, and the experts make strong warnings to doctors and patients. These studies showed that a youth that ingests the investigated antidepressants ("Prozac" and "Zoloft", among others) has a risk of having suicidal thoughts twice as much than another one to whom are administered placebos. Undoubtedly these shamanic medicines only can be used under the expert guidance of an experienced shaman.

In view of the 80 millions abortions appraised at world level annually, it is more than probable that some people among you are suffering for a similar reason of depressions, whose cause is a serious deficiency of vitality that can bring about cruel states of psychoenergetic exhaustion. In the casuistry presented a little while ago, it becomes visible, how such a deficiency of vitality comes into being "endogenously". To understand this, no medical university education is needed, but just a healthy common sense.I suppose that your mother, for comprehensible reasons, kept secret before you such a possible crisis of consciousness that could have existed during her pregnancy, or that she could not even communicate it nowadays. To be able to liberate the subtle energy scheme (the cellular and reticular memory) of the body from such negative, destructive energies and to load it ("vitaminize" it) with natural vital forces, much deeper and more efficient instruments are needed than those that are at the disposal of the conventional psychotherapy, that is: the employment shamanically administered of the so called "Sacred Power Plants" of the Indian-American Shamanism.Their notorious incrimination as "drugs" by the WHO (World Health Organization) is not only antiquated, because it has always been objectionable by the light of the ancestral wisdom of Shamanism, but is totally absurd and truly grotesque, because – among other things – the ”Sacred Power Plants" are also extremely capable to cure even the very drug-addiction, being equally incurable for the formal medicine! Why, to tell the truth, should the psicocatalytic or shamanic medicines – that don't produce any dependence and are characterized by a healing power inaccessible for the formal medicine, if they are used expertly by an experienced shaman – be prohibited?; when such heavy poisons, gravely addictive, as the opium or the morphine can be used legally in our clinics? - Maybe, only because the doctors don't know how to manage the shamanic medicines? In the interest for the health of the whole humanity, the rejuvenated investigation - but now carried through seriously under a competent, i.e. shamanic guidance! - of the healing effects of these psicocatalytic medicines has ended up being from now on an unconditional demand of our time that should not be more postponed.*

SAN PEDRO - botanical denomination: Trichocereus Pacchanoi, a cactus of the Andes whose medicinal agent is the alkaloid mescaline.* * PSICOCATALITIC - term that refers to the catalytic action of the shamanic medicines on the subconscious and the consciousness; because due to it, the material deposited in our subconscious becomes perceptible for the consciousness.

Cornell Woolrich-remainder of the films from another post

NIGHT HAS 100O EYES, THE WINDOW, REAR WINDOW, OBSESSION, NIGHTMARE.
MANY PERIOD NOIRS TACKLE THE ISSUES OF DREAMS, NIGHTMARES, AND THE HIDDEN ROLE AND REALITY OF PSYCHIC EVENTS AND THE PARANORMAL IN SHAPING A RELENTLESS AND INDISCRIMINATE FATE.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Window

The Window (1949) is a black-and-white suspense film noir based on the short story "The Boy Cried Murder" (reprinted as "Fire Escape")[1] by Cornell Woolrich.[2] The film, which was a critical success, was produced by Frederic Ullman, Jr. for $210,000 but earned much more, making it a box office hit for RKO Pictures. The film was directed by Ted Tetzlaff, who worked as a cinematographer for over 100 films, including another successful suspense film, Alfred Hitchcock's Notorious (1946).

    Plot
Set and filmed on location in the tenement section of New York's Lower East Side, the film tells the story of a young boy (Driscoll), who has a habit of crying wolf.
Late one night, he climbs up the building fire escape and sees two people murder a drunken sailor. No one, not even the boy's parents, believes young Tommy when he tells what he has seen, since they all assume that this is just another of the boy's tall tales.
The murderous neighbors find out the boy is a witness to the killing and plan the same for him when his parents are away. Tommy fears that the killers are out to get him, so he runs away from home only to be caught by the two.

When the film was first released, The New York Times lauded the film and wrote, "The striking force and terrifying impact of this RKO melodrama is chiefly due to Bobby's brilliant acting, for the whole effect would have been lost were there any suspicion of doubt about the credibility of this pivotal character. Occasionally, the director overdoes things a bit in striving for shock effects, such as when the half-conscious boy teeters on the rail of a fire-escape or is trapped on a high beam in an abandoned house on the verge of collapse. However, though you may be aware of contrivance in these instances, it is not likely that you will remain immune to the excitement. Indeed, there is such an acute expression of peril etched on the boy's face and reflected by his every movement as he flees death in the crumbling house that one experiences an overwhelming anxiety for his safety."[3]

Film critic Dennis Schwartz discussed the noir aspects of the film and wrote, "The city slum is pictured as not an easy place to raise a child, as there appears no safe place to play. Though the times have changed, this taut tale nevertheless remains gripping and realistic. The modern city is not any less dangerous than the postwar years of the 1940s (undoubtedly even more dangerous). This film noir thriller exploits the meaning of the American dream to work hard for all the material things that were becoming available and ultimately find a utopia in the suburbs, as it cries out for the children left to their own devices to survive in such harsh surroundings as their parents have become too busy to raise them properly."[4]

TV Guide praised the film and wrote in a review of the film, "...this incredibly tense nail-biter stars Driscoll as a young boy who has a habit of crying wolf...The Window presents a frightening vision of helplessness, vividly conveying childish frustration at being dismissed or ignored by one's parents. Director and onetime cameraman Tetzlaff adroitly injects a maximum of suspense into the film, enabling the audience to identify with Driscoll's predicament and, interestingly, to view his parents as evil, almost as evil as the murderers themselves. Having photographed Hitchcock's Notorious just three years before, Tetzlaff had, without a shadow of a doubt, learned something of his suspense-building craft from the master of that art (as did just about every working director)...An exceptional film.[5]

In the simplest terms it is the element that drives the tale from one incident to the next — perhaps the killer’s motive as in The Bride Wore Black, the heroes amnesia as in Black Curtain, or here, in Woolrich’s masterpiece, the possibility of psychic powers and the inevitability of fate.

Fate is always having its little joke in Woolrich’s novels and stories, and in Night Has 1000 Eyes that little joke is at its most effective, and terrible.
Night opens appropriately at night. The hero is a young detective who spots an attractive young woman attempting suicide. He stops her, only to find she is desperate and frightened out of her wits.
Her wealthy father has been threatened, but this is no ordinary threat. A man claiming psychic powers has told her that her father will die at an appointed time and cannot be saved. And this psychic is never wrong.
    Never.

And that may be where this book most resembles a horror novel and not a suspense novel, because most good suspense novels let you go when they come to the end. There is a build up to incredible tension and then a release.
Not in Night Has a Thousand Eyes.
If anything this book is more disturbing when it is over.

Night Has a Thousand Eyes was well filmed by John Farrow with a fine screenplay by Barré Lyndon and Jonathan Latimer, with Gail Russell perfectly cast as the fey girl, John Lund the hero, Edward G, Robinson the psychic, William Demarest a doubting cop, and Jerome Cowan the doomed victim.
It’s a fine piece of film noir, but it is only a pale shadow of the novel. I don’t know that you could translate on film the tension that Woolrich builds in print. I’m not sure you’d want to, because as I say, Night Has a Thousand Eyes doesn’t let you off the hook. Not even when you have turned the last page and laid the book aside.

That title has the ring of some ancient bit of wisdom or poetry. It has the feel of found wisdom, of something we all knew, but never put into words before this.
The night has one thousand eyes and they are watching us. We cannot run from them, we cannot escape them. Fate will not be denied, nor can any man escape his appointed time. We all will make our own appointment in Samara on time.
And perhaps it is that inevitability that gives this novel its power. We aren’t let off with easy answers, and though the solution leaves itself fully open for rational explanation there is a cold dark corner of the soul that knows that isn’t what Woolrich was telling us.

Rear Window is a 1954 American suspense film directed by Alfred Hitchcock, written by John Michael Hayes based on Cornell Woolrich's 1942 short story "It Had to Be Murder". It stars James Stewart as photographer L. B. "Jeff" Jefferies, who spies on his neighbors while recuperating from a broken leg; Grace Kelly as Jeff's girlfriend Lisa Fremont; Thelma Ritter as his home care nurse Stella; Wendell Corey as his friend, police detective Tom Doyle; and Raymond Burr as Lars Thorwald, one of his neighbors.
The film is considered by many film-goers, critics, and scholars to be one of Hitchcock's best and most thrilling pictures.[2] It received four Academy Award nominations, was added to the United States National Film Registry in 1997, and was ranked #48 on AFI's 100 Years... 100 Movies (10th Anniversary Edition).

After breaking his leg in one of his dangerous photography assignments, Jeff is confined to a wheelchair in his Greenwich Village apartment, whose rear window looks out onto a small courtyard and several other apartments. During a summer heat wave, he passes the time by watching his neighbors, who keep their windows open to stay cool. The tenants he can see include a dancer, a lonely woman, a songwriter (Bagdasarian), several married couples, and Thorwald, a salesman with a bedridden wife.
After Thorwald makes repeated late-night trips carrying a large case, Jeff notices that Thorwald's wife is gone and sees Thorwald cleaning a large knife and handsaw. Later, Thorwald ties a large packing crate with heavy rope and has moving men haul it away. After discussing these observations, Jeff, Stella and Lisa conclude that Thorwald murdered his wife.
Jeff asks Doyle to look into the situation, but Doyle finds nothing suspicious. Soon a neighbor's dog is found dead with its neck broken. When a woman sees the dog and screams, the neighbors all rush to their windows to see what has happened, except for Thorwald, whose cigar can be seen glowing as he sits in his dark apartment.
Convinced that Thorwald is guilty after all, Jeff has Lisa slip an accusatory note under Thorwald's door so Jeff can watch his reaction when he reads it. Then, as a pretext to get Thorwald away from his apartment, Jeff telephones him and arranges a meeting at a bar. He thinks Thorwald may have buried something in the courtyard flower patch and then killed the dog to keep it from digging it up. When Thorwald leaves, Lisa and Stella dig up the flowers but find nothing.

Lisa then climbs the fire escape to Thorwald's apartment and squeezes in through an open window. When Thorwald returns and grabs Lisa, Jeff calls the police, who arrive in time to save her. With the police present, Jeff sees Lisa with her hands behind her back, wiggling her finger with Mrs. Thorwald's wedding ring on it. Thorwald also sees this, realizes that she is signaling to someone, and notices Jeff across the courtyard.
Jeff phones Doyle, now convinced that Thorwald is guilty of something, and Stella heads for the police station to bail Lisa out, leaving Jeff alone. He soon realizes that Thorwald is coming to his apartment. When Thorwald enters the apartment and approaches him, Jeff repeatedly sets off his flashbulbs, temporarily blinding Thorwald. Thorwald grabs Jeff and pushes him towards the open window as Jeff yells for help. Jeff falls to the ground just as some police officers enter the apartment and others run to catch him. Thorwald confesses to the murder of his wife and the police arrest him.
A few days later, the heat has lifted and Jeff rests peacefully in his wheelchair, now with casts on both legs. The lonely neighbor woman chats with the songwriter in his apartment, the dancer's lover returns home from the Army, the couple whose dog was killed have a new dog, and the newly married couple are bickering. In the last scene of the film, Lisa reclines beside Jeff, appearing to read a book on foreign travel in order to please him, but as soon as he is asleep, she puts the book down and happily opens a fashion magazine.

A "benefit world premiere" for the film, with United Nations officials and "prominent members of the social and entertainment worlds"[5] in attendance, was held on August 4, 1954 in New York City, with proceeds going to the American-Korean Foundation (an aid organization founded soon after the end of the Korean War[6] and headed by President Eisenhower's brother). Critic Bosley Crowther of The New York Times attended that premiere, and in his review called the film a "tense and exciting exercise" and Hitchcock a director whose work has a "maximum of build-up to the punch, a maximum of carefully tricked deception and incidents to divert and amuse"; Crowther also notes:[5]
Mr. Hitchcock's film is not "significant." What it has to say about people and human nature is superficial and glib. But it does expose many facets of the loneliness of city life and it tacitly demonstrates the impulse of morbid curiosity. The purpose of it is sensation, and that it generally provides in the colorfulness of its detail and in the flood of menace toward the end.

Nearly 30 years after the film's initial release, Roger Ebert reviewed the Universal re-release in October 1983, after Hitchcock's estate was settled. He said the film "develops such a clean, uncluttered line from beginning to end that we're drawn through it (and into it) effortlessly. The experience is not so much like watching a movie, as like ... well, like spying on your neighbors. Hitchcock traps us right from the first....And because Hitchcock makes us accomplices in Stewart's voyeurism, we're along for the ride. When an enraged man comes bursting through the door to kill Stewart, we can't detach ourselves, because we looked too, and so we share the guilt and in a way we deserve what's coming to him."[9]

Other issues such as voyeurism and feminism are analyzed in John Belton's book Alfred Hitchcock's "Rear Window".
Rear Window is a voyeuristic film. As Stella (Thelma Ritter) tells Jeff, "We've become a race of Peeping Toms." This applies equally to the cinema as well as to real life. Stella invokes the specifically sexual pleasures of looking that is identified as exemplary of classical Hollywood. The majority of the film is seen through Jeff's visual point of view and his mental perspective. Stella's words sum up Hitchcock's broader project as film maker, namely, to implicate us as spectators. While Jeff is watching the rear window people, we too are being "peeping toms" as we watch him, and the people he watches as well. As a voyeristic society, we take personal pleasure in watching what is going on around us.

    Ownership
Ownership of the copyright in Woolrich's original story was eventually litigated before the United States Supreme Court in Stewart v. Abend, 495 U.S. 207 (1990). The film was copyrighted in 1954 by Patron Inc. — a production company set up by Hitchcock and Stewart. As a result, Stewart and Hitchcock's estate became involved in the Supreme Court case.
Rear Window is one of several of Hitchcock's films originally released by Paramount Pictures, for which Hitchcock retained the copyright, and which was later acquired by Universal Studios in 1983 from Hitchcock's estate.
    [edit] Influence
Rear Window has been repeatedly re-told, parodied, or referenced.

Disturbia (2007) is a modern day retelling, with the protagonist (Shia LaBeouf) under house arrest instead of laid up with a broken leg and who believes that his neighbor is a serial killer rather than having committed a single murder. On September 5, 2008, the Sheldon Abend Trust sued Steven Spielberg, Dreamworks, Viacom, and Universal Studios, alleging that the producers of Disturbia violated the rights of Abend and the Woolrich estate, by not acquiring the rights to the Woolrich story.

Nightmare is a 1956 psychological thriller starring Edward G. Robinson. The story is based on a novel by William Irish (aka Cornell Woolrich). The novel was also made into a film in 1947 titled, Fear in the Night. The film was directed by long-time movie writer Maxwell Shane, later the producer of the classic horror anthology Thriller in the early 1960s. He directed both versions of the film. Also appearing in the film as the movie's big band is Billy May and His Orchestra.
    [edit] Plot
New Orleans big band clarinetist Stan Grayson has a nightmare where he sees himself in a mirrored room killing a man. He wake ups and finds blood on himself, bruises on his neck, and a key from the dream in his hand. He goes to his brother-in-law, police detective Rene Bressard, about the problem but is dismissed. Later, the two men go on a picnic in the country with Grayson's girlfriend and sister. Grayson leads them to an empty house, the house of his dream, when it begins to rain. They are shocked to see that the house has a mirrored room just like in his dream. After it’s found out that a murder did indeed take place, Grayson becomes Bressard's number one suspect. Grayson, stressed out and suicidal, protests his innocence which makes Bressard dig deeper. That leads to them finding out about a hypnotist in Grayson's building that apparently set up the band member for murder.
