Grizzly Adams 7 - Redemption of Ben

Published on Aug 17, 2012

While trying to rescue a raccoon caught in a snare, Grizzly Adams (Dan Haggerty) is buried by a rockslide. Thinking that Adams is dead, Mad Jack (Denver Pyle) and Nakoma (Don Shanks) leave his body under the rocks. Ben sadly wanders off, mourning the death of Adams.

When Jack and Nakoma return to mark the spot with a wooden cross, they suddenly see Adams' hand reappear. They dig him out, overjoyed that he is still alive. They take him back to the cabin, bandage his injuries and attempt to nurse him back to health. In the meantime, Ben has been captured by Mitch Morgan (Norman Fell), the owner of a small traveling animal circus. Morgan chains Ben up and starves him trying to get him to do tricks. Adams gets well enough to walk and despite Jack's protests, heads off into the mountains to look for Ben. Angered by his confinement and spurred on by hunger, Ben reverts to a wild state. He breaks his chains and escapes from Morgan, seeking food wherever he can find it.

Adams finds Ben in time to prevent him from being shot by a group of men traveling through the mountains. He patiently reminds Ben that he is a friend, until the confused and hungry grizzly finally remembers Adams. Morgan is greatly impressed by Adam's ability with animals and promises to always be kind to his animals in the future.
